"Breacan Cottage" is so called because there is a holy well in one of the adjoining fields called "Tobar Breacain"(Gaelic). Holy wells are probably the oldest sacred sites in the country, being revered in the millennia before Christianity. Many of the traditions and sites of these wells have their origin in pagan times.
The house itself is a beautiful rustic cottage with panoramic sea views and is situated in the tranquil rural setting of Parkmore, Dooras, which has a pier suitable for fishing. The guest bedrooms themselves are beautifully furnished and luxurious - see photos of the bedrooms.
Free Internet Access available in all rooms.

"In Kinvara - we stayed at a small B&B, Breacan Cottage in Parkmore. Our hostess, Geraldine Linnane, couldn't have been more welcoming, hospitable and fun! Located on the rocky beach just outside of Kinvara, the B&B is located on the site of an old holy well. We loved staying at Breacan!"

Review from a CBS News reporter:
At Breacan Cottage - which mostly attracts travellers not tourists - you'll discover that the Real, the Hidden but most of all the Romantic Ireland is not dead and gone....it's the captivating location, the legendary breakfasts but mainly the incomparable delightful Geraldine!

Claire and myself wanted to express you our deep feelings for your warm welcome and your attractive personality...... We were sure that your country would be in accordance with our need for beauty and intimacy. And this is exactly what we have found: your beautiful cottage, just in front of [Galway] Bay, the silence, the wilderness of Kinvara, the lovely music and nice atmosphere of your pubs, your friendliness and last but not least the splendour of your breakfasts, either continental or Irish ...
